Each week at Chi Alpha we record our messages in video and/or in MP3 format, and we also maintain a sermon archive (which includes instructions on receiving our sermons as a podcast). If you’d like to come visit us next week, you can learn when and where we meet.
This week’s guest speakers are with The Traveling Team, a group that goes from campus to campus exhorting college students to fulfill their role in God’s global plan.

This week (10/11/2006) we ask ourselves why Christians believe that Jesus is unique among world religious leaders. I (Glen) would like to publicly honor Dr. Tim Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian in New York City, for shaping my thoughts as expressed in several points of my message. He’s the bomb and I unashamedly appropriate his insights into the Scriptures whenever possible.

This week (10/4/2006) we ask ourselves what Jesus would likely say to us based upon what he said to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3.

Whether you’re a new freshman exploring the mysteries of the Facebook, a transfer student looking forward to better dorms, or a seasoned grad student who is wise in the ways of Ramen we’re glad you’re here and we look forward to meeting you. We also urge you to check us out on on the aforementioned Facebook.
Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 27th at 7:30pm in 300-300 (map). Our Bible studies will be launching within the next few days as well.
You might be curious about what our meetings are like. Tragically, holodeck technology is still beyond our abilities. So in place of a fully-orbed, three-dimensional, multisensory experience we offer these videos:

This week (5/17/2006) we talk about what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit (or baptized in the Holy Spirit, as some prefer to refer to the experience).

This week (5/11/2006) we talk about three symbols for the Holy Spirit in the New Testament: water, wind and fire. Using these three symbols as markers, we explore most of what the Holy Spirit does in our lives as believers. There is A LOT of Scripture in this message, so you’ll probably want to download the handout (pdf).

Last week Dr. William Lane Craig spoke on campus about reasons to believe in God and in the resurrection of Jesus. Both lectures were simply outstanding.
I was able to grab some time with Dr. Craig for a quick interview.
In this short clip (hosted by Google Video) , Dr. Craig explains how Christians should go about handling the inevitable doubts that crop up from time to time.
Given his powerful and remarkably persuasive arguments for God’s existence, the first part of his answer might surprise you.

This week (4/5/2006) we talk about three vignettes from Matthew 9. In the stories, the experts decide that Jesus is immoral (a blasphemer), ridiculous (they laugh at him), and that there must be another explanation for his miracles (he is a pawn of Satan).
These are the same reasons that many mistrust Jesus today–he is a ridiculous figure of dubious morality and there is surely some other explanation for his purported miracles. But in each story, a person or a small group of people demonstrated their faith by asking Jesus for help and they learn that hehas the power to bring forgiveness, health, life, and freedom. He did it then and He can do it now.
