Shaolin Soccer

Friday, April 2nd, 2004

Chi Alphans,

Anyone interested in coming along?

OneThing in Vacaville

Wednesday, March 31st, 2004

Chi Alpha in Northern California and Nevada is helping to sponsor OneThing in Vacaville April 15-17.

We’re only going to be there on Saturday (and possibly Friday night), and so we’ve got a $10 discount off of the regular price of $35.

In addition, we’re running a workshop track there we’re calling Into the Real World for seniors and graduate students. We’re bringing in a team of Silicon Valley executives and recent college graduates to help you transition beyond graduation.

Register online (you’ll need to create a user profile prior to registering)

Note: the $10 discount only applies to Chi Alpha or other recognized Assemblies of God ministries. I know this is online and anyone can see it, but please act with integrity.

Swing Into a Spring Fling with Chi Alpha

Sunday, March 28th, 2004

Welcome back–hope you had a great Spring Break (and I also hope you didn’t appear in any videos you’re going to regret…)

Anyway, the national director of Chi Alpha, Dennis Gaylor, is going to be speaking at our group this Tuesday at 8pm in 300-300 (details).

And next week Curt Harlow, one of the best communicators in Chi Alpha, is going to be sharing with us!

And if you’re really good, you might even get to meet Glen & Paula’s new baby!

If you’ve gotten out of the habit, be sure to jump back into Chi Alpha this quarter!

stressed?

Monday, March 8th, 2004

This Tuesday night (3/9/2004) is the last meeting of the Winter Quarter–finals are just around the corner!

Since most everyone is feeling stressed out, it seemed appropriate to take a look at what the Bible has to say about stress. This Tuesday night we’re going to meditate on Psalm 4, and see what the warrior-poet David had to say about handling diSTRESS.

As always, things kick of at 8pm in 300-300.

Prelude to the Passion

Tuesday, February 24th, 2004

Mel Gibson’s movie The Passion of the Christ opens tomorrow. By all indications it will be one of the most-watched movies of 2004, but I’m sure it will confuse a lot of people.

It’s going to be confusing because it focuses on the last 12 hours of Christ’s life without giving the context of the first few decades.

If you’re curious to know a little bit more about why Christ died and why people are still talking about it thousands of years later, come to Chi Alpha tonight at 8pm, download the MP3 archive of the message (or browse all our MP3 messages).
