One of the key principles of ministry is this: what God does in you He wants to do through you.
In Genesis 12:1-3, God tells Abram, “I’m gonna bless you and in you all the nations of the earth will be blessed.” In other words, Abram you are blessed in order that you may become a blessing.
In 2 Cor 1:4, Paul talks about a horrible time in his life and then says, “We comfort others with the comfort we ourselves have received from the Lord.”
The big idea is this: what God does in you He wants to do through you. God does a work in your life and intends for that to ripple out to those around you.
If you’re ever not sure what to do in ministry, one of the questions you should ask yourself is “What has God done in my life, either recently or what has been the most profound work of God in my life?” Then look around and see if there is a chance for you to do that same thing for others.
You are blessed that you may be a blessing. You are comforted that you may comfort others.
What God does in you, He wants to do through you.
